Job Description

We’re looking for a Income & Project Officer to join South Essex Community Hub and be part of our dedicated team to help us with supporting communities through our Hub Community Hub Models.

About the Role

The Income & Project Officer will play a critical role to help deliver an effective and high performing income generation through grants, fundraising, business development.

In collaboration with the COO & Team, developing new funding streams and funding strategy for the charity. Develop bid writing skills of the team set up schedule of funding. Provide service support to the charity through its Community Hub models. Build partnerships and relationships with new funders, third sector organisations.

This role will also reporting the impact the Charities projects and activities ensuring an cost effective high impact offer.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (until May 2025)
Hours: Monday – Friday 25 day/hours flexible hours to be agreed
Hours: Part time available
Location: Southend-On-Sea, Essex

Responsibilities Include

● Bid Writing
● Income generation
● Project reporting and spending allocation
● Preparing reports and presentations to Board of Trustee
● Developing fundraising plan with COO and Trustees
● Cover and support for Help In Hub and Youth Hub
● Service support as and when required.
● Project administration
● Being designated Safeguarding lead when COO is off site
● Representing SECH at events and community meetings
● Supporting with impact reporting & KPI
● To contribute towards the continuous improvement of performance in line with the
organisation’s service.

About You

● Demonstrable experience and track record of grant Income.
● 3-5 years bid writing experience
● GSCE (A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths
● Experience of working with software applications including Microsoft office and
bespoke IT Systems.
● Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and priorities
● Able to take ownership and deliver excellent customer service in a professional and
confident manner
● Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working.
● Ability to communicate with service users and colleagues effectively.
● Ability to provide customer focused and responsive services.
● Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service
● Patient and pro-active
